What your Floors say about your Business…

A clean shiny floor says a lot about your business and employees. The first impression is a lasting one and ensuring the floors in your buildings shine will help give that look of professionalism and pride in your environment! Floors that are serviced regularly by a trained professional will have a sparkling shine.

Just as a shiny floor reflects well on the business, a poorly maintained floor also stands out. Discoloration, peeling and chipping along the edges and wax buildup are just a few things that will happen when a floor isn’t serviced. The overall impression is that your employees don’t care about the work produced and the details aren’t important.

Also keep in mind that a poorly maintained floor can add risk to employees and customers. Wax build up and dirty floors tend to be more slippery and can create an unsafe working environment.

Back to the Basics…

Basic floor care includes debris removal with sweeping and dust mopping with a final wet mop finish. Don’t forget corners, edges and tough to reach areas.
When wet mopping be sure to change water regularly and put out proper signage to notify patrons of wet floors. Start with the edges and work your way in keeping a circular motion to prevent streaking and complete coverage. Be sure to avoid getting the cleaning solution on furniture and baseboards.
Be sure to thoroughly rinse mop heads and store upright so the mop dries thoroughly. Also remove mop heads and launder regularly.
Look for gum, scuff marks, stains around urinals and toilets and spot treat or remove prior to mopping.

Schedule Professional Maintenance…

Be sure to schedule proper maintenance on your floor by trained professionals.
- VCT, depending on daily maintenance and traffic will need to be stripped and waxed regularly and buffed to keep shine and preserve the flooring material.
- Tile and Grout need deep clean and sealing regularly to preserve color and prevent staining.
- Carpets need to be steam cleaned and extracted properly for deep cleaning and prevention of mold growth.
